This was the title of a paper delivered at a Modern Church South West group meeting on Saturday 8th April 2017 at Manvers Street Baptist Church, Bath.

Canon Paul Brett, formerly Social Responsibilty Officer in the Church of England diocese of Chelmsford led a reflection on how we can engage meaningfully with the trends which led to the rise of Brexit and Trump.

Sixteen people came to hear Canon Brett's excellent reflection and join the wide-ranging discussion afterwards. There was plenty of support for further meetings so the core group of local organisers based in Bath are meeting to plan two more, one in the autumn of 2017 and one in early 2018. A future theme may be Creation Theology and Spirituality, with  and we want to invite the The Right Reverend Nicholas Holtam, Bishop of Salisbury, as a potential speaker.
